I've seen lots of photos of King Cheetahs before, and those are some really lovely ones you linked! While the way I do my spotting might not be the exact same, its more of an artistic liberty you could say? That's not me trying to cover my rear and say, "Oh its just my style!" When I made my first King Cheetah character (he's the light gold one on the tutorial, I actually used refs pretty close to these two photos you linked in regards to spots - [link] and [link] And again, just took liberties with it to make him different so his spotting wouldn't look exactly like the real deal~

Xylia - [link] [link] (And with this girl I tried to play more with the way the spots actually look on her back near the blue)
I, by no means, intend for people to think that King Cheetah spots actually look like this lol! But more or less I'm just demonstrating a technique that can be used when replicating the actual spot patterning~ If that makes any sense. XDDDD;;; *is so wordy and bad at explaining*
You're not rude at all! Quite the opposite!
I see what you're saying, and I understand perfectly (just the right amount of wordy
Now I feel bad for answering with so few words X.x
Thanks again for your maturity! I can't begin to explain how great it is to not be snapped at!
I know EXACTLY what you mean! With the internet right at your fingertips (or even the local library) there's no reason at all that someone can't research just a bit. Though sadly its not the case for everyone, but you know what I mean. @ n @ Lol! If I see any tiger stripped cheetahs then I'll definitely know why now~ XD
No no, you're perfectly fine dear! Your reply is just fine and again, I'm so glad that you bought up the point about stylization and reality in regards to the King Cheetah spots. <3333
Actually a tiger-striped cheetah could look interesting @.@
Speaking of oddly-colored cheetahs, did you hear about this guy? [link]
No problem! All crits aside, your technique looks like it would be useful for a variety of coat patterns C:
Tiger-striped or even a brindle coated cheetah~ e u e *rubs chin with ideas*
Actually yes! My friend linked me to the article about him on Mongabay.com -[link] What an absolutely gorgeous animal! The dusting of spots reminds me of freckles~ X3
Thanks! It definitely comes in handy when I do do other types of markings~
Okapi or Bongo stripes
or tropical fish stripes??
I wish there were more photos of him, he is so breathtaking! My jaw dropped when I saw him. I've read about oddly colored cheetahs before, but I never thought I'd get to actually see any besides Kings (albeit in a photograph).
Same here! I really hope maybe there will be more photos of him in the future if he shows himself again~
